New resin for foam plastics

Ottofinna Chemical Company announced on July 19 that it has developed a technology for the manufacture of fluoropolymer flexible foam or rigid foam. This technology uses KYNAR(R) polyvinylidene fluoride resin to produce foams of various thicknesses and shapes. Foams produced from KYNAR resin have strong chemical resistance, are stable at high temperatures, have very little smoke, are very resistant to water, are UV resistant and weatherable, are excellent in mechanical properties, and are resistant to radiation and have low ion adsorption (high purity). There are many potential applications, including fire resistance, chemical filtration, high-purity polishing materials for electronic equipment, moisture protection, breathable membranes for sports equipment, outdoor UV protection, temperature-resistant gaskets and chemical-resistant gaskets, sealing fabrics .
