Recently, RenShape Solutions Group of East Lansing, Michigan developed a new sterolithograph resin that can maintain the same mechanical properties as ABS resin for a long period of time. RenShape SL 7580 is an epoxy/polyacrylate hybrid that is completely different from the molecular structure of past stereolithography resins. It not only has a very high flexural modulus (2450 MPa), but also has an elongation at break of up to 11%. Excellent elongation at break after a few months of aging. According to Mahesh Kotnis, the company's marketing manager, almost all three-dimensional lithographic materials are subject to changes such as brittle fracture over time, and the market and users have been demanding more stable materials. This new photopolymer meets the long-term durability requirements, and the product has the same milky white color as the thermoplastic ABS resin injection molded article.
RenShape SL 7580 has the toughness required for fast close-fitting. It is hardened by UV irradiation, and the heat distortion temperature rises from 78°C to 97°C after UV irradiation at 63°C for 2 hours. SL 7580 products are particularly easy to clean and surface coating, suitable for preparation Models, samples, and full-scale models of functionality.
