Recently, the United States Chevron-Philips company introduced RK54SBS styrene / butadiene copolymer resin, which is characterized by stable low-temperature shrinkage, especially for shrink packaging external labels.
The shrinkage of RK54SBS is very stable with temperature, and it fits well with various shapes of polyolefin shrink wrap, which always maintains a satisfactorily good appearance.
The RK54SBS begins to shrink at 60°C, and after shrinking to 95°C, the shrinkage rate reaches more than 75% of the maximum shrinkage rate. The shrink label is not only smooth on the surface, but also very transparent and highly glossy. In addition, the relative density of this resin is as low as 1.02 g/cm3. Therefore, it can increase production by 20% to 30% compared with other labeling materials outside shrink packaging, that is, using the same heavy resin can produce more labels.
