NOVA, a manufacturer of petrochemicals and plastics products, recently announced the formal introduction of two new types of Surpass polyethylene resins to the market. The products are mainly used for demanding frozen food packaging. The two product numbers, IFs542-R and IFs730-R, provide ice cream and other frozen foods with sufficient impact resistance at very low temperatures.
SURPASS IFs542-R and IFs730-R resins were developed using NOVA Advanced SCLAIRTECH technology using its proprietary single-site catalysts. The resin produced by this catalyst system can bring significant processing advantages, including high cycle times and high energy utilization due to lower processing temperatures. In addition, the use of SURPASS resin in frozen food packaging can also increase the brand effect of the product because of its high design flexibility, good sensory effect and good toughness.
SURPASS IFs542-R and IFs730-R resins are used in frozen food containers and container covers, respectively, and are currently being marketed in both sample and commercial form. In addition, these two new SURPASS resins will be added to the NOVA Food Packaging Performance Package, which also includes DYLARK FG, Foam DYLARK FG, ZYLAR EX and other SURPASS resins.
