The position of metal hoses in modern industry has been determined. However, if the type selection is incorrect, the use is unreasonable, or the installation is improper, it is impossible to receive the desired effect, and even bring serious economic losses. Therefore, engineering designers, operation and maintenance personnel must have a basic understanding of the correct use of various types of metal hoses.

Choice of length

Hose hoses can be long or short. However, stainless steel metal hoses in working condition often cause problems of one kind or another due to the improper length determination. For example: if the metal hose used as a compensator is too long, it will cause instability; if the metal hose used for the pump inlet and pump outlet is too long, additional vibration will be generated; if the metal hose used in the pipeline system is too long, Will produce greater fluid resistance and so on. Of course, shortening their length can avoid the above problems. However, it is shortened blindly. It is impossible to achieve the purposes of compensation, vibration reduction and noise elimination. At the same time, the advantages of other aspects of metal hoses are not fully reflected. Therefore, determining the length of the metal hose is an important task. In the following, the methods for determining the length of the metal hose in several different occasions are introduced for reference.

(1) The length of the metal hose used as a compensator depends on the size of the diameter. The basic principles of calculation are as follows:

The diameter is less than or equal to 250 mm, the diameter is less than or equal to 400 mm, and the diameter is less than or equal to 1000 mm,

Note: In the pipeline system, if the compensation amount of one compensator is not enough, two or three can be used. If it is restricted by the spatial location conditions, it is impossible to install a large number of compensators, and the multiple structure can be used. However, the principles of formulas (7.1), (7.2) and (7.3) must not be violated.

(2) The inlet and outlet of the pump used for vibration and noise elimination depends on the size of the diameter, that is, the diameter is less than or equal to 100 mm. In formulas (7.1) to (7.4), L is the compensator Or the length of the flexible section of the metal hose; the diameter of the compensator or metal hose.

(3) The length of the metal hose with angular displacement depends on its actual bending radius and displacement angle.

(4) The length of the laterally displaced metal hose depends on its actual bending radius and the amount of lateral displacement. That is to say: the tangent section refers to the middle transition section of two tubes with the same radius and different directions when the metal hose is displaced laterally. When calculating, generally consider the length of double the diameter.

(5) In the bent state, the length of the metal hose moving longitudinally in parallel sections depends on its actual bending radius and the amount of longitudinal movement.

(6) In the bending state, the length of the horizontally moving metal hose depends on the actual bending radius and the amount of lateral movement. In the formula (7.5) ~ (7.2), L is the length of the flexible section of the metal hose; is the diameter of the metal hose; is the displacement angle; Y is the single lateral displacement; T is the total longitudinal or lateral displacement .
